Does anyone live in Alaska?

We are considering a move from the deep south. This is my husband's big dream. Would love to ask questions about what it is like to homeschool there, how are the commutes to work year round... that kind of thing. Looking at property in the Sutton area and wonder if it would be possible to live there and work near Anchorage.
