I will say this -- there's hardly a person alive who doesn't have "gaps" in knowledge. You simply start where you are. I understand your frustration -- we pulled our dd out mid-year in 5th grade, and I was at a loss where to start. But we did a bit of trial and error, and it all worked out.
Anyway, hope to see you on another board. Sorry your post got buried under all that spam before.
