We are in York county which is the southern most county of Maine. We have been homeschooling for only 1 1/2 years. We actually took my oldest son out of school in the middle of his third grade year. He finished up the year at home and then last year both of the older boys were home for 3rd and 4th grade. We did Abeka last year because it was easy and provided a good education but it has been my homeschooling goal to move more toward a classical education. I spent last year gathering info and the guts to veer off and do something less structured.
