I think they are often *socially* immature - - that is, they often don't suss out the give and take of peer situations quickly, and often their other interests over ride an interest in fitting in with peers - - my 7 yr old

often amazes people with her 'adult' conversation and demeanor, but in a crowd of age mates, she is obviously 'young for her age,' even among other home schoolers.

Like I said in my subject line, I do think that accelerated learners often have such strong interests that they don't have the time or inclination to 'keep up' with their peers socially. This is fine with me - although I admit that I do cringe inwardly when she sits down to watch 'Barney' with unabashed delight . . .
