Okay, don't hate me: I'm stuck at my computer today keeping my kids from picking on each other. So, I'm filling my time by thinking about curriculum for next year.
Our science focus for the year will be chemistry. For my high schooler, I'm planning on having her take a class through the virtual school and supplementing with a good chemistry set for additional labs. My logic stage kiddo can participate in the chemistry set labs, but I'm looking for a text or spine for him. (Both of mine like traditional textbooks for some subjects.) I've heard good things about the Prentice-Hall Science Explorer series, and I see that I can get used copies of fairly recent editions for reasonable prices.
I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who has used these and either liked or disliked them and the specific reasons why?
And, if you have something else that you really love for chemistry at this age/stage, I'd love to hear about that, too!
