I keep saying that I'm willing to take things at my dd's pace, but when theory becomes reality, it is much harder to do!
My dd's newest favorite subject is Latin. We just started Prima Latina which I like because it has nice, simple lessons. I thought that we would do one lesson a week. DD wants to do one lesson A DAY. Our second day of Latin was full of tears because I didn't let her move on. Do I let her lead, or stick with my plan so that I know she will retain this?
I'm running into this with all of our language arts topics. She also wants to do extra spelling tests. (Retention is an issue here.) I added Wordly Wise just to give her more to do. She is devouring this as well. Any ideas?
(Meanwhile, math and handwriting are "too hard", even though she completes these easily and I've kept these lessons short.)
Thankfully, we have history, where it is so easy to go in depth whenever she wants it!
