I think they are often *socially* immature - - that is, they often don't suss out the give and take of peer situations quickly, and often their other interests over ride an interest in fitting in with peers - - my 7 yr old

I am not sure that emotional hypersensitivity is a developmental thing (although it can seem like it), I was a hypersensitive kid and it didn't go away with maturity, I just learned to be aware that others weren't like that, and to hide/supress it. (nt)
