One is like the boys you describe, and one is a nice boy (Amy in OH's son, actually.) So there is hope, lol. And, yes, it probably is illegal to slap any of the parties mentioned. I would use these boys as your cautionary tale, so some good comes out of the situation. It is hard to have that balance between building kids up enough to withstand things like this, but not so much that they act pompous, and when they are gifted I think it is more difficult.
