My ds also detests repetition. We don't do the workbook. If he has trouble with a concept, I try to come up with games that will help him practice it. Games seem to solidify the concepts more than anything else for him, and they also often show me that he knows more than I thought. I can't tell you how many times I thought he didn't remember his facts, but then when we played a game with those same facts he knew them cold. He was just bored with doing the problems for the sake of doing the problems.
When he gets too bored or frustrated with Singapore we switch back to A Beka for a few weeks. That also has tons of repetition, of course, but he likes having variety. When that gets old, we go back to Singapore, or we play math games for a week or two. It sounds weird, I know, but it works for us.
