My son got one wrong on the 4th grade MCAS (standardized Mass. test) when I gave him an old public one, and my struggling 8th grader, who was doing PM6 at the time, got a perfectly respectable score on the 8th grade MCAS. The problems they missed had to do with statistics and graphing and sets. Leaf plots was one, and not knowing what a median was. Later, after doing NEM 1 and less than half of NEM2, the then 10th grader tested into Pre-calculus on the community college placement exams. I wouldn't worry about the different sequence. Also, this was just a quick look, but our principal said that PM6 looked on a par with what his 7th graders (pre-algebra) were doing. I have one child in NEM1 who began in PM2, and one in NEM3 who began in PM3 in 5th grade.
