1. Some people can never explain what they're doing in Algebra.
2. This could be age related. He gets the concepts, but perhaps not all his logic centers (which typically develop somewhere around the age of 13) are developed yet.
3. If he wants it, I'd ask Adrian. I haven't seen him here, but he does post on the high school board.
