I think it may need more drill. However, we're running an experiment:) and just doing Life of Fred until we're finished with it. He's about 1/2 way through it. He should finish by the end of January.
Then, I'm going to test him with Math-U-See (which he was using earlier in the year and likes) to see if he got all the concepts.
If he gets all the concepts, we'll continue with Life of Fred. He really likes it. He does struggle to understand it sometimes. However, if he goes back and reads the math part and not just the story, he gets it. I think it is just a matter of slowing down!
However, whether or not it works on own, it is definitely a great supplement!
I'm sorry I can't give you a better answer. I will let everyone know what I think at the end.
