Boring her by not giving her new material sounds like a very bad idea. However, you also don't have to follow WTM exactly for first grade. WTM is a guideline, but you really have to tailor it to meet the needs of your child. I'd keep the lessons short and make sure your dd is interested and engaged.
My two boys were very different in their needs. My oldest really struggled with handwriting, so I did a lot of writing for him. He also was (actually still is) very sensitive, and I did not start Story of the World until he was six. Even then I had to edit parts or else he had nightmares. He loves history though.
