We started many things early with 6yo DD1 -- grammar, Latin (language is her thing), math, science, history and an interesting unit study here or there. Recently we started Spelling and Spanish, and she's already itching to add another language. In all but history we let her self-pace. History is enriched with supplemental reading -- historical fiction, folk tales, legends and epics, and poetry. We keep days short, and do not assign readings or require (i.e. initiate) analysis on her part. Nor is she asked to write, other than in a practice book; however, she's taking over more and more of the everyday writing as it becomes easier. We did and do lots of oral work and reading aloud (me, not her).

I'd say play it by ear and see where your dd's interests lie and how she responds. It's always easy to "catch up" later on, especially with a bright child. :)
