Mostly it's playground type games with neighborhood kids. The other kids are very nice; we do have issues with how they're raised but it doesn't affect them playing with our boys. We're just watchful (we would be anyway).
I haven't encountered issues with my husband, but this might help.
What we have done is 1) taught some of the games in question because we feel it was just an oversite on our part. 2) Discussed what other kids are and aren't interested in.
We've made a few concessions concerning TV and movies to make certain he is "in the loop". But again, we haven't gone overboard. We're very careful about what he is exposed to.
I also try to grab his attention when I notice he's talking too much (IMO) about a specific topic of interest and I see his friend isn't getting it or getting bored. Also when he gets too bossy (an ongoing thing).
I'm very interested in some of the books mentioned here and look forward to checking them out.
