Point out that it is only a quirky talent for academics? That in real life, it is useful, but not always that important?
That's what I've done, anyway. And as mine get older, the differences between the children make that easier, not harder, even though I am teaching them together for most subjects and they are 4 years apart.
I'm lucky, though, because my older one has his own stuff that he is doing, hard stuff that the younger one can't imagine managing even though he is at the age the older one was when they began. Also, although they are on the same gymnastics team and practise together, they are each at the right level for their age. It is only in school or engineering things that the younger one is ahead of (or only slightly behind) the older one.
Maybe if you make sure everyone is aware of the big picture of all aspects of life it would help? School seems huge when you are a child, but one of the nice things about homeschooling is that you can chop it down to a smaller piece of your child's life.
