Not roll-on-the-floor funny, but he has a certain wit. Very engaging, though--he's really able to bring to life the culture he's describing.
Don't know what your father's tolerance for this would be, but some of them have explicit sexual references, and the one on the Greeks was downright crude at times. I didn't find it awful, but just wanted to warn you if he'd be turned off by it.
