We didn't get the one with answering machine attached. We have all of our data (internet, phone, long distance) bundled, and once you get 2 or 3 phone features, they don't charge more if you get 4, 5, or all of them. So we have the voice mail. I know Uniden does have the answering machines, though.
When I looked at the list of features, I rolled my eyes when I saw that you could program different rings for different callers. But then I started putting rings in for groups. When DH calls from work (or I call from my cell), it plays "Let Me Call You Sweetheart" so I know to answer. People I want to talk to, unless it means dropping a child on the floor, get another ring. You can only get this feature with Caller ID, but it's really nice if I'm in the smallest room in the house & my sister calls. I can yell for DD to answer--or even ask quietly, because odds are, she's beating on my door with an important question. (I miss my sister. She just moved to TX in April, and her schedule is very erratic.)
