No... if it is a .1 thermometer, 99.2 is correct (measured to the nearest .1)...

if it is a .2 thermometer, then the actual temp coule be either 99.1 or 99.2... I think they round up, but you would have to check the manual.

It's easy to tell... watch the numbers change as you take a temp. Do they go up by ones... .1, .2, .3 or by twos .2, .4., .6. I think most of the newest thermometers are accurate to the nearest tenth of a degree (.1), but I do have two that are only accurate to the nearest 1/5 of a degree (.2).
