fill the tub, put in 1/4 c of detergent, and run the jets or 20-30 minutes. Then turn off the jets and let the water sit another 30 minutes or so. Then drain, refill with clean water, run jets for 5-10 minutes to rinse, and drain tub. Works great and cleans the jet system, too. We got this tip from Rich Trethewy on This Old House Hour.
