Worthwhile computer games, recomendations?

We have no video system but I do let my boys (ages 10 and 8) play some computer games. Zoo Tycoon, Fritz & Chester (chess) and Civilization have all been hits. Any other good recommendations? My older boy will turn 10 soon so I'm looking for a birthday gift.
