I just don't do "improvisation" in the kitchen. Whenever anyone tells me what a great cook I am, I just say, "well, I know how to read and follow directions." In every other area of my life, I'm a creative, free-wheeling kinda gal. But with meals, I just want someone to tell me exactly what to do.
