Beets! My husband just pulled up a dozen from the garden. Desperately need a recipe ....

He planted them since he likes to eat the young greens, and I've always enjoyed beets elsewhere. However, I have no idea how to prepare them. I'm looking for a VERY simple recipe. Can you help? I'm not too domestic so assume nothing as regards my cooking skills.
