I currently go to a large public high school, as does my fifteen-year-old sister. This is a list entitled "You Know You Go To [our high school] When..." It was contributed to by several students, and I've left all grammatical errors in for the sake of accuracy. The list was started on a blog site forum for people who go to our school. My sister showed this to my mother, who thought you all might be interested in seeing it. Since I've actually got the copy of the list and my mother doesn't, I decided to go ahead and post it. I would like to point out that this list doesn't really encompass any of the good stuff about the high school, such as the awesome English teachers, so it is somewhat biased in that way. But anyway - this is, at least partly, my experience and the experience of some other students.
And now, the list! The starred ones are the ones I contributed. And I edited out bad language...

19. u threw a gatorade just becuz u wanted to see what it would feel like to participate in a food fight
20. u're feet were surrounded by white mice on the day the seniors thought they were sooooo cool bringin em for their senior prank

22. u ever thought about "doin it" in the many crevices in our BIG HUGE SCHOOL
23. u wanted to kill "the guy" (no names) who fumbled the football at the desoto v. duncanville game b/cuz we had a chance to beat em
24. u bet on the girls and boys basketball teams (05-06) b/c u knew they sucked and had no chance of making it to state

* 30. You remember being able to go outside during lunch
* 31. You remember hearing about people being shot at the football game
* 32. You know the real reason there aren't ever any fire drills - or why they do it by section
* 33. Your teacher skipped a fire drill
* 34. You remember the guy who was going to tear the money - and how some kids actually almost climbed onstage trying to stop him
* 35. You skipped the assemblies - with teacher approval
* 36. You remember the roving pep rallies
* 37. You know the real reason there are no pep rallies
38. You've gone to the high school for three years, studied the plans for the school, then walked all of the hallways just because you could.
39. When you stay seated during food fights and call the people who started them f*****g morons.
