It's his revulsion of his sister's spit! DS is 12, DD is 10. If DD licks her finger or absent mindedly somehow touches her mouth or licks a finger tip or touches a loose tooth or anything like that, DS demands she goes and washes her hands. And he'll monitor that she washes them long enough, through two happy birthdays. If she refuses and then touches any thing of his, even hours laters he loudly complains that she's contaminating it. They bicker about this issue all day every day. I've told him a million times not to parent his sister and to leave her be. I've told him that I don't think saliva is all that germy and I don't require her to wash her hands everytime she gets spit on them. He basically ignores me and continues. I get so angry with this!!! Or am I in the wrong. Do other people wash their hands everytime they lick of finger tip? Tonight I told DS that this behavior must end, that if he says anything to DD about her hands tomorrow he's going out for an hour to pick dandelion leaves. That's probably an over reaction, but I know this will continue and I don't know what to do. What would you do? Valerie
