Just last month a mosquito got in our car on a long drive and while it didn't bother anyone else, it tore my sleeping ds7 up. So, don't feel so bad!
Anyway, I'd watch him for signs of infection of the sites themselves and put neosporin on them. It's so easy for those to get infected by scratching.
As for anything else, like West Nile, etc. I'd just watch for the actual symtoms of those. I'm not sure what, but fever would be suspect.
I wouldn't take him to the doc unless he developed some sort of symptoms, but that's just me.
