FWIW, it's fairly easy to install the vents in the attic. If you or DH is willing to learn the basics of wiring, you could do it in an afternoon. It's oddly... empowering... to learn a skill like that. :-) (Said the glad, yet reluctant, learner!) And it might make a big difference for you. I was amazed when I'd open our attic access and the heat literally billowed out into the hall. Blech. I feel for you - it is hot 'n sticky.
