How to make our home the place the neighbors want to play?

We want our dc to play here, rather than at their neighborhood friends' houses, because they'll get more supervision here. Our dc love to visit the neighbors because their parents basically leave them completely alone to play and the neighbors have all of the coolest, new toys, Game-boys, etc. Dh says we need to invest in video games, Game-boy, big-screen tv, stuff like that to attract the kids. Yuck. Double yuck. I hate that idea, but I'm afraid he's right. We can't have a pool and we won't have a trampoline. What other options are there for attracting the neighborhood kids to our house?

- Attractions here are the river and the farm, but that doesn't help you. ;-) We have a big rec room in a detached machine shed and that's where kids can mess around (foosball, etc). Which is good, because I do *not* want them in the house. (nt) - Colleen 20:35 Jul 11
