Mine was directly related to my period -- due to a fibroid -- which resulted in a hysterectomy. I began taking iron pills immediately at diagnosis and began feeling better after 6 - 8 weeks and was near normal levels by the time of surgery which was about 3 months after initial diagnosis.

All to say, I am a much happier and healthier woman than I've been in years.

BTW, when I went to the doctor for my results he remarked that most people would not be able to lift their heads of their pillows at levels that low. However, because I was loosing it slowly, probably over many months or years I was adjusting to it.
