Housing dilema, what to choose??

If you could choose between beautiful historic house with lots of space and I mean lots with nice lot and character. Or house that cost 30k more in neighborhood with not a big lot but kids could have friends "supposedly", what would you choose? Don't know how to do the link thingy but copied below
