I was called today by the dr office and told I need to take an iron supplement. I've been exhausted lately, but have been blaming it on working too much. Also my gestational diabetes test was borderline, so I wasn't given any specific instructions other than reduce the amount of sugar in my diet. I have many symptoms of anemia such as shortness of breath, tiredness, dizziness, and heart palpitations. I also get so shaky in the mornings I must lie down at least hourly but am okay by the afternoon.
I've never had gd before so I don't know if any of these are symptoms of this disorder as well. Can anyone tell me how I'd feel if I had gd and how long it takes iron supplements to begin working to alleviate the anemia symptoms? I'm 26 weeks and everything seems fine with the baby, it's just mom doing the struggling right now :)
