Egads!!!!! There I was happily eating a _______ bar, when suddenly I felt something extremely hard. I thought, this is very hard for a peanut, this is too hard for a peanut, and sure enough, it was the inner "wall" of one of my molars. I couldn't call the dentist because I was 5 hours away from home (another story...) So these are my questions:
1. I had a root canal done in that tooth--it seems to me the dentist said that would kill the tooth as it involves removing the nerve? So this tooth would be dead?
2. It doesn't hurt at all, but I think I can feel the insides of my tooth--are they usually sort of more like tissue than tooth? (I kinda thought it was tooth all the way through...)
3. Do I have to worry about this at all--might there be increased chance of infection or anything like that? Since it doesn't hurt and is only slightly annoying, I'd rather wait til after the new year to deal with it. (Sigh--they will probably want to remove it because they weren't too sure about saving it the last time, which was the second time I had had a major problem with it. A lot of the tooth had been previously removed a long time ago (yet another story))
Thanks for any help on this!
And a Merry Christmas to those who celebrate Christmas, and Happy Holidays to those who celebrate something else!
