is the whole world cranky. i just drove an hour and a half (into south florida traffic) to visit with my folks for the weekend and i have the worst road rage. and i told my mom that i will not celebrate next year because i hate driving down. (i am not a city person, unless we're in a downtown and can walk).
i guess the world is just tired, but the older i get the more reluctant i am to participate in the whole "holidays" thing.
i bought a present for the 2 siblings i will see. that's it. i didn't even buy my own kid a gift. but this kid of mine could care less.....when she was 4 years old she sat on santa's lap and he asked her, "what would you like for christmas?" every mouth dropped when she replied with, "nothing."
so i am printing coupons for her - for walks, unlimited book reading, etc...but mostly for walks though because that is all she wants to do lately. and for me she went through her stuff and i will get a box of her favorite books and toys as my gift. she does this for me all the time. i own all her stuff by now! i love this more than if someone took her shopping.
ok.....wow, i feel less crabby remembering how she wraps her stuff for me.
thanks everyone for listening to me vent. you guys are awesome! i was thinking about that today when my car was getting worked on - even the people who i may "argue" with - i like because they are strong and opinionated and say what they think. and i love that. and thank you everyone for being the strong womyn you are!
