We started with My First Bible Stories. It was cute for reading the famous stories in the bible. DD still loves to just sit and read it, but it's too young for us now.
Now, I like the Family Illustrated Bible (I think DK). It has the bible by verses, with a page for historical background, pictures, and details on people. We read this one as part of our history lessons.
We also have Kid's Life Application Bible published by Zondervan. This my daughter uses for bible study and to take to church.
Then, we use a regular KJV bible for reading as well. The language is so rich that I think it's important to expose her to it.

PS My husband wonders why it is necessary to have about 7 bibles in the house - hers and mine. LOL!
