The major novels my son will be reading and studying are: A Day No Pigs Would Fly, To Kill a Mockingbird, Lord of the Flies, and The Great Gatsby. These align with our history study. We're also going to work through Progeny Press's Intro to Poetry which looks fabulous!
I will also read The Jungle by Sinclair to him. He will read many other books for history, like Bury Me Not in the Land of Slaves, The Land by Mildred Taylor, etc.
