We have used both Mind Benders (through the C level) and the Logic Liftoff series. Either approach exercises the brain, which is your goal at this point. Logic Liftoff does introduce the syllogism model, but I thought it was thinly explained and confusing. It really didn't provide much specific preparation for formal logic.
Use whichever series you enjoy, or you could switch off during the logic stage.
