The community college system I work for has lots of online classes and even allows you to mix-and-match among campuses. There is no residency requirement at all, and there are several majors that you can do completely online. Most of them require that you take the exams on campus or under the watchful eye of an approved proctor. Online classes are required to follow the same scope-and-sequence as classroom classes.

It's not for everyone, but the college I work for has steadily increased their offerings. I'm scheduled to teach both a classroom and an online section in August.
