Yes, I do know both :-)! Was your son in W2D this past year? What's his name? My son was in it as well--ConnorH.

My older son used Legacy in 11th grade and really liked it (though he wasn't wild about listening to the tapes). I only have Omnibus 1, but in comparing it with W2D, I would say Omnibus's analysis is more focused on world view and culture than is ISLAS (which is more focused on literary analysis). Omnibus does certainly contain literary analysis (and it may have more in future volumes), but it is not as focused on that.

Omnibus is similar in its religious and government philosophy to Legacy. Also, I would say that the discussion questions and assignments (including many writing assignments) are superior to Legacy of Liberty.

Omnibus has no reconstructionist flavor to it, though it does have a Calvinist flavor. This is mainly limited to a couple of the theology books and some of the books of the Bible that are studied, but except for the essay in the front of some of the books, it's not blatant. They are very up-front about it, though, so they are not trying to be sneaky. The view that God is sovereign over the affairs of man is very evident throughout.

If Omnibus had been available earlier, I would not have hesitated to use it with my boys. I think it is excellent.

Hope that helps!
~Kathleen
