Just wanted to put in a plug for this rhetoric course. In reading through the book, I can't wait to get started. My two dc, 17 and 15, will be doing the course this year.I had planned to have a joint discussion period daily, but in reviewing the material I'm not sure we'll do that. I think I'll just ask each of my dc to give me their completed assignments in writing each day or week.
What impresses me most about the course is how it reviews Logic and Latin so well. It really seems to pull it all together for the student as he/she studies Aristotle's Rhetoric.
I'd also originally planned to omit the parts of the course from "How to Read a Book" by Mortimer Adler. However, upon reading through the book I can see how important those readings will be. I've now ordered the book and plan to use the Rhetoric course pretty much exactly as written (kinda rare for me, I'm always tweaking!).
I'd be happy to recommend this course to anyone considering it!
