everyone comes to class already having read the poetry that you plan to cover. That way they are familiar enough with the poetry that they are getting more from a second reading and your analysis lecture. To facilitate the process of prereading, I'd make everyone come to class with something already written like:

My favorite line.....
The most important word and why.....
If I had to summarize the poem in one sentence.....
My least fav poem of the group and why
My most fav poem of the group and why
