Lightning Lit British for a 9th grader

My dd is in a co-op group that has chosen to do Lightning lit British lit next year for 9th grade. My dd struggles with reading and comprehension for her age level but is improving this year! I just wondered if anyone has used this and what is your opinion of it. We would probably end up reading some of the books aloud or getting the CD's for her to use.
