[ High School and Self-Education Board ]

I'll start on Monday (classes started today, but I teach M/W). I'm teaching two sections in the Math Education Department, one for high school teachers, and one for middle school teachers. Of course, I'm still working fulltime here at the community college, so I'm doing this in lieu of going back to school myself this semester.
I will make a decision over the summer about grad school. I think the drive to NCSU exhausts me, and I don't really enjoy being a "commuter" student, since I don't get involved in the community of the other students. So, I'll probably opt to transfer to ECU and shift directions toward a technology PhD. But I do truly enjoy Math Ed. Oh, the quandary!
Still available via email at LWMillsap at yahoo dot com whenever anyone has a pressing math question, and I'm going to continue to check the boards periodically, but I doubt I'll have time daily.
Take care,
Lori
PS My remaining student at home is progressing beautifully as an all-but-independent learner, and will attend the CC as a dual enrolled student beginning next January. So, she has some "one year" goals to accomplish this year for college readiness, and has developed a good plan. My university dd is back in class today, and looking forward to this semester--three art classes, plus Calculus III and Linear Algebra. My DH is progressing beautifully as a house husband, and is anticipating retirement August 13. He and the younger dd will be spending a month in Guam after he retires, and she's pushing for the "Grand Tour" with side trips to Australia and New Zealand. We'll worry about that later--right now, volleyball season has started, and the younger dd is all practice-and-games. Oh, and Karenciavo? She's also started Blowout planning. (c:
