I'm board-rationing instead...once in the wee morning hours. :)
I took a course in college from Dr. Gilbert Bilzekian, a somewhat controversial course, as women's roles seems to be a hot button issue. He has a book entitled Beyond Sex Roles. I don't think that is necessarily what you are looking for, although 23 years later, I seem to remember that his book may have touched on the things you are considering. However, in looking it up on Amazon, I found the book I've linked below.
Maybe looking at that will be a springboard for you.
